Fatty Acid Profiling and Physiochemical Characterization of Chlorella sorokiniana Potentially Used for Biofuel Production

Rising oil prices and climate change have resulted in more emphasis on research into renewable biofuels. In this study, different water samples were collected from local vicinities for the isolation of isolates microalgae to check their potential towards production biofuel by addition chemical substrates. Five concentrations ascorbic acid iron (III) chloride (0, 1, 2.5, 5 & 10 µM) are used as Microscopic analysis evaluated that belong genus Chlorella further molecular identification showed C. sorokiniana. Among all 2.5 µM is most effective against sorokiniana strain 1 (Safari Wildlife Park, Lahore) 2 (Bahria Town, while Strain 3 (SukhChane Society, responded at term biomass production. FeCl3 (2.5 growth inhibited. Lipid content only shows results FeCl3, respectively. Those which give significant lipid preceded fatty profiling. Results indicate can be considered a source alpha-linolenic acid; basic constituent it concluded useful environment friendly biofuel.
